These databases can be located in three places. On a network server, the users local hard drive or on removable media such as : DiskOnKey Biometric ID device, USB flash storage devices and / or smart cards. Each WhoIsIt database contains its own biometric enrollment center. The user can switch between each database and enrollment center from the WhoIsIt network dialog box. Displayed below. When you first install WhoIsIt the default biometric database and enrollment center is set to use the user's local PC hard drive, where the username and override password has been automatically enrolled from the WhoIsIt install wizard. Note When using smart token all biometric authentication and matching will be done on the smart token. When using dumb tokens template matching and cryptographic operations will be performed by the local PC.
Setting WhoIsIt menu and biometric database for use on a USB flash memory device To have the client side WhoIsIt software use the biometric database and the private key store located on the the USB flash Memory device you must open the biometric enrollment center for any USB flash memory device you must select smartcard/smart token. This is done by clicking Options as shown above. This will cause the Options dialog box to open. Shown below
Click the Network tab displayed in the dialog box to open the network dialog box. Pictured above. This will open the Network dialog box. Shown below.

The WhoIsIt client software will now use the USB flash drive for password and template storage. The user enrollment center will now be the enrollment center for the biometric database located on the removable USB flash memory device. The WhoIsIt client software will use the biometric database located on the USB flash drive for biometric authentication until you enter the Network dialog box and select a different biometric database. Selecting the radial button "Smartcard/Smart Token ". instructs the WhoIsIt client software and CSP to use the biometric database and certificate key store located on the USB flash memory drive. Windows desktop / network logon, screen saver lock and PKI operations will require that the USB flash menory device be present in the USB port before biometric authentication can occur.
Entering the USB flash drive enrollment Center Now that WhoIsIt is set to use the USB token device you can enroll your fingerprints and select an override password for the USB token device. From the WhoIsIt menu select Enroll users. Pictured above This opens the Password Required dialog box.
