Digitally Sign and Encrypt E-Mail with PKI-Biometrics

WhoIsIt is the first biometric security program to develop a biometric cryptographic service provider CSP

WhoIsIt's Biometric engine uses Voice, fingerprint or optional face recognition to authenticate applications that support the Microsoft CAPI standard.

Application such as:

  • Outlook
  • Outlook Express
  • Adobe Acrobat PDF files 6.0 and above
  • SecureZip for PKware
  • And more

Sending clear test e-mail messages, attachments and communicating with friends, business and your bank over the web may be a security risk. When you want to send a message to a friend or logon to your bank account to transfer some money you want the assurance that the logon and e-mail messages sent to your friend and bank are secure and private. Many banks and financial institutions are concerned about security and Phishing, a technology that directs customers to fake web sites where customer information and account numbers are collected. One solution is to secure bank account access with WhoIsIt PKI-biometric authentication using challenge / response technology. Another is to encrypt and sign all e-mail and attachments with a cryptographic algorithm. This technique transform your email message and attachments into an encrypted form unreadable, except by those that the message is intended for.

For example: In dealing with company employees, friends and your bank, email messages and attachments can be high jacked. If you have the public keys of your bank, friends and company employees, you will be able to encrypt messages and attachments knowing that only those the email was intended for will be able to decrypt and read your correspondence..

Those wishing to digitally sign and encrypt e-mail using biometrics such as fingerprint and voice authentication may say that this technology will be available in the future, but for those using the WhoIsIt biometric security program the future is here.

QVoice was first to deliver a retail biometric security program using Voice authentication in 1994. Now with 10 years of biometric experience QVoice has leveraged its expertise in biometrics and encryption technology to develop the first biometric (CSP) Cryptographic Service Provider based on the Microsoft CAPI standard.

WhoIsIt lets you encrypt your e-mail to ensure that the message and attachments may only be read by the intended recipients.

WhoIsIt WhoIsIt requires biometric proof of your identity before it allows you to digitally sign your e-mails and attachments to prove that the message and attachments really came from you and not an imposter and were not tampered en route via the internet.

QVoice’s WhoIsIt biometric CSP contains integrated biometric authentication technology that authenticates the use of all private keys with voice authentication, fingerprint identification or PIN numbers before you can digitally sign or decrypt email and attachments.

The days of remembering PIN Numbers and passwords to decrypt and digitally sign e-mail, attachments are gone.

Key Features

• Secure your encryption and signing keys and store them on the local PC or any removable USB flash device.
• Authenticate private key usage with WhoIsIt PKI-biometrics
• Encrypt and decrypt e-mail, documents and data with WhoIsIt PKI biometrics.
• Sign and validate your e-mail, messages, attachments and documents.
• Authenticate to applications with PKI challenge/response technology if supported by application provider.

WhoIsIt’s biometric CSP in combination with the Microsoft CAPI does all the heavy lifting when using cryptography. Once you have obtained a digital certificate from a CA of your choice, invoking the WhoIsIt biometric authentication engine to digitally sign, encrypt and decrypt email and attachments is accomplished by clicking the Sign or Encrypt buttons located in the Microsoft Web browser. It’s that easy.

The complexity is removed from the user. The next time you want to digitally sign and decrypt email and attachments, simply speak into a microphone attached to your computer or place your finger on a fingerprint sensor to prove your identity. If its you WhoIsIt signs or decrypts the mail. If it is not you, the imposter will not be able to decrypt and digitally sign email, attachments and documents.

To use the WhoIsIt biometric CSP the user needs to obtain a digital certificate from an approved CA such as COMODO or VeriSign

* If you do not have a digital certificate to sign and decrypt e-mail and attachments you can obtain one for personal use free of charge form http://www.instantssl.com/ssl-certificate-products/free-email-certificate.html
